Download HelenOS 0.2.0
HelenOS is being developed by the students of the Mathematics and Physics faculties of the Charles University in Prague with the aim of developing an operating system according to own set up specifications. Some of these specifications include a cross-platform operating system with support for, among other things, symmetric multiprocessing and multitasking. The operating system source code is made available under the BSD license, while the bundled applications fall under the GPL flag. HelenOS has recently been upgraded to version 0.2.0. The update is via this page downloadable for IA-32, IA-64, AMD64, PPC, and SPARC systems, among others. In HelenOS 0.2.0 the following changes have been made:
This release fixes many bugs and adds new functionality both to the kernel and userspace. The kernel now supports graceful task cleanup and the userspace layer was extended with framebuffer and console services. We also ported BSD tetris to demonstrate userspace capabilities of HelenOS.[break]
