Gizmo is a program that can be compared to the now well-known Skype. But unlike Skype, Gizmo is based on an open standard, which is SIP. You can start a conversation with other users of Gizmo for free or call and receive calls from a normal phone for a fee. Each Gizmo member also receives a SIP number with which you can be reached by other SIP-based programs. For more information about this program, we refer you to this page. The developers have released version 2.0.2.227 for Windows 2000/XP without updating the list of changes. Only the following announcement can be found in the Gizmo Project forum:

Windows Gizmo 2.0.2.227 is now available for download. This version contains many bug fixes. We believe it to be more stable than previous Win Gizmo versions.
