Software Update: CoreTemp 0.99.7.7

Spread the love

CoreTemp was updated to version 0.99.7.7 last Thursday. This small free program can identify and monitor the computer’s processor. CoreTemp is able to display the temperature of the individual cores, which not many other programs can. At the moment, only the more modern processors supported, including the Phenom, the Athlon64 and the Turion64 from AMD, and the Core and the Core 2 from Intel. The collected information is written into a log, so that it can be graphed later, for example in Excel. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:

New:

  • Core Temp FAQ is now available online, see About Core Temp dialog.
  • System tray icons for CPU speed and CPU load – see System Tray setup under Options.
  • Support for the latest mobile AMD processors.

Fixed:

  • Multiple “Fail” messages when the computer exits sleep or plugged into/unplugged from power (laptops).
  • Several mobile Intel processor recognition issues.
  • When disabling Windows 7 Taskbar feature with Cycle mode, icons still continue to cycle.
  • Windows 7 Taskbar settings UI bug.

Updated:

  • “Start with Windows” function in Vista and 7 now works on a per-user basis.
  • Change the time and date layout of the log file name to YYYY-MM-DD HH-MM-SS.
  • All of the readings logged are now numeric only.
  • In single instance mode, the previous instance will be brought to the screen.

Known issue:

  • Core Temp may stop responding for a period of time or completely lockup on some systems when switching between power supplies (wall/battery) or exiting sleep/hibernation mode.
