According to the developer of the MaximusHD-ROM, HTC is coming with an Android One version of its upcoming ‘Ocean Life’ device. Smartphone insider Evan Blass confirms that and he also shows a render of the phone. Ocean Life is probably the code name for the HTC U11 Life.

Evan Blass shows the render in a tweet. The device shown has an interface that differs from stock Android. LlabTooFeR gives indicates that the smartphone runs Android 8.0, but is equipped with Sense 9.0 and retains a number of HTC features. For example, the device gets Edge Sense, Usonic, Zoe and the HTC Camera app.

The custom interface may be just a launcher and may be disabled by users. It is also possible that the phone shown is not the Android One version. Devices that fall within the Android One program have stock Android and get updates quickly, because Google maintains the software.

According to previous rumors, the HTC Ocean Life is a variant of the U11, with midrange specifications and a slightly smaller 5.2 “screen. Like the top model, however, the device would have pinch-sensitive sides. According to Android Authority, the device will receive a Snapdragon 630-soc .

In early September, Google announced that more manufacturers are coming with Android One phones. Then the Xiaomi Mi A1 was also announced within the program. This weekend, Evan Blass showed a render of an Android One version of the Motorola Moto X4, which has not yet been announced.
