Many PlayStation users are reporting that they have got their accounts back after their accounts were permanently banned unexpectedly and for no apparent reason. On Monday, hundreds of users reported that their accounts had been permabanned.

Many users reported on Tuesday morning that their accounts had been restored, also writes The Verge. Some of the users had contacted PlayStation customer service to do so, although others said they had not done so. Sony has not yet responded to the unexplained bans and subsequent reinstatement.

Reports circulated on Monday that many users were receiving permabans on their PlayStation Network accounts, with no clear reason given by Sony. A notification from a user read: “This account has been permanently suspended from PlayStation Network for violation of the PlayStation Network Terms of Service and User Agreement.”

The gaming giant does not specifically state which conditions have been violated in the bans. It is unknown exactly how many users were affected, but according to The Verge, there were ‘hundreds’ of reports from accounts that had been permanently suspended.
