Photos of Samsung Galaxy S7 Active leak out
The first photos of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Active have surfaced on the internet. The extra-resistant version of the Galaxy S7 is finished in the images with a digital camouflage pattern on the back. Also, the buttons on the front are physical again.
The photos are published by Samsung Viet. The Vietnamese site states that it deviates from the materials of the predecessor, the S6 Active. This time, the metal housing would have been replaced by a combination of polycarbonate and rubber, to better withstand shocks. The example shown has the logo of the American telco AT&T on the back. This is not unexpected, as the Active variants of these smartphones have been released exclusively in the US to date. The existence of the Galaxy S7 Active was previously revealed by a changelog of one of Samsung’s apps on the Play Store.
Specifications of the device are not yet known, but experience shows that these will be almost completely the same as with its ‘regular’ counterpart. Compared to the S6, the S6 Active had a significantly larger battery and an IP68 certification. This means that the device is dustproof and completely waterproof, up to a depth of 1.5m. It is also shock and vibration resistant and can withstand extreme temperatures and altitudes. The S6 Active also had the same specifications as the S6. Whether the S7 Active will continue this trend is not yet clear. The Galaxy S7 itself is also dust and waterproof this time.
