Photos and specs of Alder Lake non-K processors appear online

Photos and details have surfaced about Intel’s upcoming non-K CPUs in the Alder Lake series. Unlike the current Alder Lake processors, these processors are not overclockable. The new non-K chips are expected in early 2022.

The photos were published by DDAA117 on the Chinese social medium Zhihu, VideoCardz was the first to note. The images show the Core i9-12900 and the Core i5-12600, Core i5-12500 and Core i5-12400. The leaker has not published any photos of Core i7 variants or of CPUs with an F suffix, whose integrated GPU is disabled.

At the same time, the Zhihu user publishes CPU-Z screenshots of the chips, and the leaker endorses previously published information from famous leaker momomo_us. For example, DDAA117 confirms that the Core i9-12900 has 16 cores and 24 threads, divided into 8 P cores with hyperthreading and 8 E cores without hyperthreading. That’s equivalent to the current Intel Core i9-12900K. The processor’s P-cores would also have a base clock of 2.4 GHz and a turbo frequency of 5.1 GHz, and the cpu has 30MB L3 cache.

More striking are the three Core i5 variants, which all seem to have only 6 P-cores, and do not get E-cores. The current Intel Core i5-12600K has 6 P-cores and 4 E-cores. The three Core i5 non-K chips all have 18MB L3 cache. The mutual differences are limited to the clock speeds.

The Intel Core i7-12700 has in turn recently appeared at an online store. That processor gets 8 P-cores and 4 E-cores, for a total of 20 threads, just like the Core i7-12700K. The processor also gets 25MB L3 cache. This CPU should also have a clock speed of 2.1GHz and a boost clock of up to 4.8GHz. The retailer in question also reports that the CPU is already available, while Intel has not yet officially announced it. The web store does not yet show a sales price.

Intel released its first Alder Lake CPUs in early November. It was then about higher positioned K and KF models, in combination with the Z690 chipset. It’s not yet confirmed when the non-K models will follow, but Intel may announce them at CES in January. Momomo_us claims that the CPUs will be released in mid-January.
