Olympus introduces E-520 digital SLR

Olympus has announced the E-520 digital SLR. The camera is equipped with a 10.1 megapixel image sensor, built-in image stabilization and a dust removal system. The E-520 will be available from June.

Furthermore, the new dslr has a 2.7″ LCD screen, face recognition and support for the Four-thirds standard on board. Photos can be shot at a speed of 3.5 fps and with an ISO value of 100 to 1600. The buffer offers space for 8 raw photos, after which the content must be written to a compact flash or xd memory card.

Olympus will make the E-520 available in four packages from June. The body of the new camera will cost $599.99, while the body with a 14-42 f/3.5/5.6 kit lens has a suggested retail price of $699.99. The other two packages have the same content as the kit lens, but come with a second lens. The choice can be made between a 40-150 mm F/4.0-5.6 or a 70-300 mm f/4.0-5.6 telephoto lens. Pricing for the two-lens packs has not been announced.
