Finnish smartphone maker HMD Global has announced an event for next week. The invitation does not let go of much, but there have been rumors for months about a successor to the camera smartphone 9 Pureview.
HMD CEO Juho Sarvikas has put the invitation on Twitter . Sarvikas adds that HMD will show several Nokia devices on that day. The invitation itself speaks of a ‘new chapter for Nokia phones’.
There have been rumors for months about the Nokia 9.3 Pureview, a phone that should succeed the 9 Pureview as a camera smartphone from the Finnish manufacturer. The new Pureview phone would no longer have five of the same cameras as the experimental 9 Pureview, but instead feature the same 108-megapixel camera sensors that Samsung and Xiaomi use, along with a regular camera with ultra-wide angle and telephoto lens.
The event takes place next Tuesday at 4 p.m. HMD has been presenting new phones in September for several years now. Last year, these were only midrange models. Last spring, HMD showed, among other things, its first 5G phone.
