Nintendo and Lego come with Mario Lego sets

Super Mario Lego sets are coming, Nintendo and Lego have announced. The figures like Mario and Yoshi are larger than a regular lego doll and come with sensors, a screen and a speaker. This way they can grab physical coins and utter cries while playing.

Players get a start and a finish in a set, and can build levels in between with all kinds of well-known elements from the games, including green pipes and blocks with question marks, Lego reports. According to both companies, it is not about a game and not about a traditional Lego set, but something in between. It won’t work with a Switch, claims Cnet.

Mario can detect which blocks he is standing on and then respond by showing something on the screen or by sounding something through the speaker, according to the video that Lego has put online. Both companies will later announce more details about the series of Lego sets. The sets should appear later this year, the companies say.
