Mockups Healthbook appear online – update

Mockups of Healthbook, an Apple health-monitoring app, have appeared on the internet. This shows, among other things, that heart rate, sleep and physical activity can be monitored, as well as blood sugar levels and blood pressure.

Website 9to5Mac made the mockups of the Healthbook app. The site claims that the mockups were created based on screenshots and substantive knowledge of the apps. It can be seen, among other things, that blood pressure, heart rate and physical activity can be monitored, as well as nutrition, breathing, the amount of oxygen in the air and weight. Sleep, blood sugar levels – relevant for diabetes patients – and the amount of fluid in a person’s body can also be tracked.

Users can also fill in an emergency card, in which they can store, for example, their name and blood group, as well as medication used and emergency contacts. It goes without saying that the emergency contact can also be accessed from the lock screen.

The Healthbook app works just like Passbook with a layout that is reminiscent of that of a card catalog. However, it is still unclear how the data can be collected. 9to5Mac has nothing to say about that, but speculates that Healthbook might work just like Passbook. Applications or even third-party devices such as the Fitbit and the Jawbone could then store their data in Healthbook.

In addition, certain information could be collected by the iPhone itself, such as information about sleep and physical activity, or by an Apple smartwatch or fitness tracker. The question then is how hydration, respiration and blood sugar levels can be measured. Last Thursday, screenshots of what is probably an early version of iOS 8 appeared.

Update, 15:26: This article stated that it was about screenshots. However, these are mockups that are made on the basis of screenshots.
