Meta is pausing sales of its Elite Strap with Battery headband for the Quest 3. The company is doing so after reports of battery issues. Meta is now producing new versions that solve the problem and is discussing a possible replacement with affected users.

A Meta employee confirms the temporary sales stop against Road to VR. The headband is out of stock at Meta herself and the Elite Strap with battery is currently not available at other online stores. The existing headbands are not being recalled. It will be determined on a case-by-case basis whether a replacement is needed. Meta is working with retail companies to make the new version available ‘as soon as possible’.

Users previously complained that the headband, which should normally provide about two hours of extra battery life, was unable to charge the Quest 3 for some users. The tech giant tells Road to VR that it is due to a problem with the firmware. The company now produces the headband without the problem.
