Logitech to put environmental impact of its products on packaging

Logitech will now indicate the environmental impact on the packaging of its products. The box states how much CO2 it cost to make the product. The company is starting this with its gaming products.

With the intention to indicate on the packaging how much CO2 it cost to make the product in question, Logitech wants to pay more attention to climate issues. The company showed an example of a packaging with a mouse stating that the production cost about 8.2 kilos of CO2.

The intention is to start showing the CO2 impact on the gaming products Logitech makes later this year. However, other products must also follow after that, so that at some point it will be known how much CO2 has been released during production for all devices made by Logitech. Logitech hires outside companies to calculate the climate impact of its products.

Logitech hopes other companies will follow the initiative, as well as provide insight into the climate impact of their products. Ultimately, that should lead to making products in a more environmentally friendly way, according to Logitech.
