LG announces prices of Friends modules for G5 smartphone
LG announces that the Friends modules for the G5 smartphone will be available at the end of April. The device should have been released in the middle of this month, but has been slightly delayed and will be available together with the expansions from April 29.
LG calls the expansion modules for the G5 ‘Friends’. This can be modules that are slid into the device, as well as extensions that are wirelessly connected to the smartphone. The LG Cam Plus, which adds extra grip and has an extra battery with a capacity of 1200mAh, costs 99 euros. However, LG will provide this accessory for free with all G5 smartphones that customers purchase until the end of May.
The LG 360 CAM is for sale for 279 euros. This is a small 360-degree camera, equipped with two thirteen-megapixel sensors, two wide-angle lenses with an angle of view of 200 degrees and three built-in microphones. The module films with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels, equal to the resolution of the screen of the G5. The camera module works wirelessly with the smartphone and has 4GB of internal memory.
The LG 360 VR also costs 279 euros. These are compact VR glasses that can be connected to the LG G5 with a cable. According to the manufacturer, the glasses simulate the image of a 130 “TV. The glasses weigh 118 grams and have a 1.88 “screen with a resolution of 960×720 pixels. That’s good for a pixel density of 639ppi.
LG has created the Hi-Fi Plus module in collaboration with B&O Play. A sound amplifier that should provide better sound quality. The device can be connected to any smartphone or PC and costs 149 euros. Finally, there is the LG G5 Hybrid Battery Charger, which costs 59.99 euros. LG calls this a “supplementary charger that ensures longer battery life.” It is probably a battery pack, but LG does not specify a capacity.
