Lenovo is launching the Motorola razr later than it originally planned. The manufacturer states that the demand is higher than expected. Lenovo will use the extra time to ramp up production.
Lenovo has reported the postponement to US media such as The Verge. In a statement, the company says that both the start time of the presale and the store sales have been adjusted to meet consumer demand. Presale was supposed to start on Thursday and store sales were to start in January.
The maker does not expect a ‘significant shift’ but does not mention new dates on which the device should be available. “Demand is high, and as a result, it has quickly exceeded delivery expectations,” the manufacturer cites as the reason. It is not known how many razr models Lenovo planned to make.
The Motorola razr flip phone has a foldable 6.2 “OLED screen with a resolution of 2142×876 pixels. On the outside is a 2.7” OLED screen with a resolution of 800×600 pixels. When unfolded, the razr measures 172x72x6.9mm. When closed it is 94x72x14mm. The processor is a Snapdragon 710 soc. The device costs $1500 in the US
