Peer-to-peer video service Joost has signed an agreement with Turner Broadcasting System, the company behind CNN, among others. Furthermore, beta testers can now invite unlimited others to test with.

In addition to Turner, whose television content as of today available video footage from Hasbro, the National Hockey League (NHL), Sports Illustrated and Sony Pictures Television will also be made available through Joost later this month. The addition of these channels to Joost offers users the opportunity to watch television programs such as Larry King Live, Charlie’s Angels, GI Joe and all kinds of NHL images ‘from the old box’. Incidentally, the aforementioned television producers will not make all their content available worldwide due to copyrights. In many cases, images will only be available in the US.

Furthermore, Joost today released a new beta version of his software and announced that every tester may invite other internet users to test with unlimited. Until now Joost could only be used by a few thousand testers. The folks behind Joost still haven’t announced a definitive release date. In any case, a broader beta test means the worst bugs are in the software and the company is confident enough to introduce the service to the general public. As far as content is concerned, in view of the above and previous agreements, including with CBS and Viacom, it seems to be in any case good.
