JBL has announced a new version of the Boombox. The JBL Boombox 2 has better sound, is waterproof, and can be connected to other JBL speakers. The speaker also has a built-in power bank.

JBL presented the Boombox 2 at the CES trade show in Las Vegas. The Boombox 2 is very similar in appearance to the original Boombox, but has different subwoofers on the side. The company says that the Boombox 2 has notably deeper and louder bass tones than the predecessor model. The Boombox 2 also has a built-in power bank to charge devices. According to the manufacturer, the speaker can last 24 hours on a full battery.

The Boombox 2 again has support for Bluetooth streaming, but also for PartyBoost. This allows the speaker to be connected to other JBL speakers that have PartyBoost support, in order to play music on multiple devices at the same time. The device has an ipx7 rating and can therefore be briefly submerged under water. The Boombox 2 will be released in the spring of this year and costs 499 euros.
