After offers in Canada and price reductions in the United States and the United Kingdom, Japanese gamers can also expect a discounted rate for the Xbox 360. The Core System variant, stripped of the hard drive and other accessories, will be available in the Land of the Rising Sun from November 2. Interested parties have to pay 29,800 yen for this, which amounts to about 200 euros. For that money, buyers will temporarily also receive two free games. The Core version was previously not for sale in Japan, but in Europe and the United States. With the price of 29,800 yen, the Xbox 360 there is almost seventy euros cheaper than the Premium edition. Microsoft would offer the cheaper game console to boost the disappointing sales figures in Japan. So far, only 158,000 have been sold, while five million have already been sold worldwide. In addition, the price offensive is probably also related to the upcoming introduction of competition in the form of the Nintendo Wii and the Sony PlayStation 3.
