An American Reddit user has already managed to get hold of Google’s new Chromecast, even before the official presentation. Among other things, he shows in a video the interface that the device will get.
User fuzztub07 says he bought the Chromecast in a store. It shows a photo of the device, which matches the previously released render. He also shows a video of the interface. The new Google Chromecast is equipped with Android TV and therefore has many more options than the current Chromecast Ultra.
According to one Reddit user, the interface is similar to that of the Android TV Home app. Apps can be accessed and movies and series can be viewed from the menus. Google Stadia can also be reached via the interface.
Google will officially announce the new Chromecast next week. During an event on September 30, the manufacturer will unveil its Pixel 5 and Pixel 4a 5G, the new Chromecast and a new wireless speaker.
