Instagram doesn’t let users send photos or videos without accepting DM

Instagram will stop allowing users to send photos and videos without their DMs being accepted. From now on, invitations to chat can only contain text, according to parent company Meta.

This should prevent the receipt of unwanted images, reports Meta. You can receive images from users who follow each other and who have therefore accepted the invitation to chat. Users can send one invitation per user and there is also a limit on the number of invitations a user can send per day.

The previously announced ‘silent mode’ for Instagram will also be available to everyone in the coming weeks. Meta also comes with parental controls on Facebook Messenger. This allows parents to see how much time children spend in the chat app and with whom they can chat. The content of the chats and who exactly children are chatting with is invisible to parents.
