HP is introducing its first QD OLED gaming monitor at CES: the OMEN Transcend 32. The screen has a 32″ diagonal, 4k resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, and, according to HP, further distinguishes itself with extensive KVM functionality.

The ‘OMEN Transcend 32 UHD 240Hz OLED Gaming Monitor’, as HP calls its new screen in full, has the same 32″ QD OLED panel as other new monitors shown at CES, for example the MSI MPG 321URX and the Samsung Odyssey OLED G8 The flat screen therefore offers the same 4k resolution (3840×2160 pixels), maximum refresh rate of 240Hz and peak brightness of 1000cd/m² in HDR mode. With SDR display, HP promises a brightness of 250cd/m². This is probably the brightness that a completely white screen can be achieved. HP speaks of 99 percent Display P3 coverage and 97.5 percent AdobeRGB coverage.

The OMEN Transcend monitor features FreeSync Premium Pro and a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification. HP has also added Dolby Vision, where most monitors only support the HDR10 format. The panel rests on a height-adjustable base and has a ring of RGB lighting on the back, adjustable via the OMEN Gaming Hub software. There you will also find the equalizer for the built-in speakers. HP promises a three-year warranty against panel burn-in.

The screen features a DisplayPort 2.1 input and two HDMI 2.1 ports, plus a USB-C input with 140W power delivery to a connected laptop. A second USB-C upstream port allows the USB hub with three USB-A ports and a 10Gbit/s USB-C port to be switched between two source devices. According to HP, this switching could not only work for the entire hub at the same time, as with a classic KVM function, but also per USB port. The screen would allow you to share files between connected devices by clicking and dragging.

HP says the OMEN Transcend 32 will be available later this year, but does not mention a specific launch date. A price has not yet been announced.
