Google is adding a 5TB cloud storage subscription option to its One service. The company charges 25 euros per month or 250 euros per year for this. This 5TB option is positioned between the existing 2TB and 10TB plans.

Google has added the 5TB plan to its One offering without an official announcement, 9to5Google noted. The 5TB option is only visible to existing Google One members; new subscribers can choose a maximum of 2TB storage, and can only upgrade to 5TB storage or more after taking out a One subscription.

The 5TB option follows Google’s decision to stop offering unlimited storage for photos. That took effect on June 1. As a result, Google Drive users had to purchase a One plan when they needed more than 15GB of cloud storage for their images. The company offers, among other things, plans with 100GB, 200GB and 2TB storage, respectively for 2, 3 and 10 euros per month.

However, users who needed more than 2TB of storage had to opt for a 10TB subscription for 50 euros per month. With the 5TB plan, Google introduces a middle ground. This option also offers the additional benefits of Google One’s 2TB plan, such as Google’s VPN service for Android.
