Google launches YouTube for kids

Google is said to be working on a section of YouTube for children, pay site The Information reported citing three anonymous sources. The children’s site would not go online for a long time, the site says.

It is still unclear how exactly it would work, but it may be a separate app that parents can put on a smart TV or tablet, for example, which only contains child-friendly videos and reactions, The Information says. The pay site claims that Google has already approached companies whether they want to make child-friendly videos for the special YouTube variant.

The ‘children’s YouTube’ is far from ready, the three anonymous sources report to the payment site. The video site already has an option for “safe” videos. Google has not yet responded to the rumor. It is unclear how many children are now on YouTube.
