Google will hold its I/O 2020 developer conference from May 12-14 at its home base in Mountain View, California. The company is expected to announce the Pixel 4a smartphones during the event, among other things.

The CEO of Google parent company Alphabet, Sundar Pichai, announced the data of Google I/O 2020 in a tweet. Just before that, Google had already put its annual teaser for the event online. I/O is Google’s developer conference, and on day one, the company traditionally announces new services, software, and hardware in its Shoreline Amphitheater.

Google is expected to announce the Pixel 4a, among others. Last year, Google introduced the Pixel 3a and 3a XL at I/O 2019. There are indications that Google is working on mainstream smartphones with a Snapdragon 730 and a Snapdragon 765, XDA wrote earlier this month.

There is also the possibility that Google will pair the event with the release of an Android beta and new Nest products could be demonstrated.
