Details of the Apple A17 Pro have appeared in Geekbench. The mobile SoC achieves a single-core score that is approximately 13 percent higher than the A16 Bionic. The multicore results would be about 12 percent higher. The A17 Pro comes with 8GB of RAM.

The A17 Pro achieves on Geekbench a singlecore result of 2918 points. That’s about 13 percent more than the A16 Bionic that Apple introduced last year. That chip then achieved a single score result of 2521 points. The A17 Pro also achieves a multi-core result of 7258 points. With the A16 Bionic this was 6392 points. That is about 12 percent lower.

The A17 Pro mobile SoC contains six computing cores, including two faster variants and four more efficient types. The two fast computing cores run at approximately 3.78GHz. Thanks to Geekbench, we now also know that the new mobile SoC has 8GB of RAM. With the A16 Bionic this was still 6GB.

Apple announced the iPhone 15 phones in early September. The American company again introduced four models: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The regular iPhone 15 and 15 Plus come with the A16 Bionic, which was only found in the iPhone 14 Pro models last year. The iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max will be delivered with the A17 Pro soc this year. All iPhone 15 models will also get a USB-C port. This means that almost every smartphone has a USB-C port. Apple indicated during its event that the A17 Pro would be about 10 percent faster than the A16 Bionic.
