F1 TV, the official streaming service for watching Formula 1 races, has gained support for casting. As of this week, users can cast images from the app to Chromecast and AirPlay devices.

The feature was added to the F1 TV app at the end of this week, F1Help announced on Twitter. Users who have a supported Chromecast or AirPlay device should automatically see the casting feature in the F1 TV app for Android and iOS. Users can cast all available camera feeds from the streaming service by tapping the casting icon at the top right of the app and selecting a compatible media player.

The arrival of this cast feature was already announced in March, when the Formula 1 owner announced that it wants to improve the viewing experience of F1 TV this year. No specific release date was mentioned. The service has now also received support for streaming 1080p images with a frame rate of 50 fps. Native apps for Apple TV, Android TV and Amazon Fire TV should also be released later this year, but it is still unclear when these apps will appear.
