Embracer Group Reveals Existence of As-yet Unannounced LotR Game
Embracer Group, the Swedish investment company that owns many gaming companies, has five different Lord of the Rings games in development. Of these, four have already been revealed so far.
The games are in development with “external partners,” according to LotR game rights owner Embracer. The ones that are already known to be coming are Gollum, Return to Moria, Heroes of Middle-Earth, and presumably a Weta game that has yet to be named. That would be four in total, leaving a fifth.
This may be about a relatively small-scale smartphone game; after all, the same applies to Heroes of Middle-Earth. It could also be that it is a game with a much higher production value. It is already in the lineup in the form of The Lord of the Rings: Gollum and, to some extent, Return to Moria. These games are being developed by Daedalic Entertainment and Free Range Games, respectively, and judging by their trailers, have a look that’s closer to triple A than the smartphone games.
This trailer is from LotR: Gollum; this is not the unannounced game.
