Driver Update: Nvidia Forceware M/Go 175.32 whql

Laptop users of a Dell XPS M1730, Dell XPS M1710 or Alienware Area-51 m9750 no longer have to wait for video drivers from their manufacturer, but can go directly to Nvidia. Early this month, the development team released a new Forceware M/Go driver set with 175.32 whql as the version designation. Unlike the Geforce video card drivers, this release will continue to be called Forceware. The corresponding list of changes includes the added support of the Geforce 8800M GTS/GTX SLI GPUs and therefore looks like this:

Fixed Issues–Windows XP 32-bit

Fixed Single GPU Issues:

  • GeForce Go 7950 GTX/7900 GS: There is screen corruption when the BenQ FP94VW is the primary Clone mode display.
  • GeForce Go 7950 GTX/7900 GS: Splinter Cell Double Agent–the game crashes after the user makes changes to the games display settings and then attempts to load a saved game.
  • GeForce Go 7950 GTX/7900 GS: Fear Extraction Point–the background in the game’s first video flickers black.
  • GeForce Go 7950 GTX/7900 GS: Enemy Territory Quake Wars–resuming from a suspend state results in flickering vehicles.
  • GeForce Go 7950 GTX/7900 GS: The NVIDIA Control Panel indicates the wrong resolution in DVI (HDTV) +LVDS Clone mode for 480p or 576p when clicking on the Resolution slide bar.

Fixed SLI Mode Issues:

  • 3DMark 2005: Intermittent, horizontal, single-pixel width lines are drawn on the screen during CPU Test 1. This issue does not occur with V-Sync enabled.
  • GeForce Go 7950 GTX/7900 GS: Splinter Cell Double Agent–with SLI mode enabled, the saving screen (auto or manual) flickers.

Fixed Issues–Windows Vista 32-bit

Single GPU Issues:

  • GeForce 8700M GT: Cyberlink Powercinema may stop responding after resuming from Hibernate mode during Blu‐ray disc playback on the LVDS.
  • GeForce 8700M GT: Unreal Engine L1–the LVDS becomes disabled after connecting the HDMI.
  • GeForce 8700M GT: Unreal Tournament demo–the display turns black when changing the resolution.
  • GeForce 8700M GT: Enemy Territory ‐ Quake Wars–the game resumes to a black screen when returning from sleep mode.
