D-Link has shown a new router and two smart home products at the IFA in Berlin. It concerns the AC5300 Ultra Wi-Fi Router, and from D-Links smarthome line mydlink the Home Smart Power Strip DSP-W245 plug block and the Home Thermostatic Heating Knob DCH-Z410.

The DCH-Z410 responds to temperature just like a normal thermostatic radiator valve, but is also part of the mydlink Home system. In this way, the component can work together via a normal WiFi network with other D-Link products that are connected via a mydlink Home Connected Home Hub.

The latter also applies to the power strip with type designation DSP-W245. The block consists of four connections, each of which can be controlled separately. For example, time switches can be set, energy consumption can be tracked and the power strip can send a push message if, for example, a limit is exceeded. Other devices within the Home Connected system can also operate the power strip, such as temperature sensors or smoke detectors. There is no suggested retail price for either smart home product yet.

The AC5300 Ultra Wi-Fi DIR-895L/R router can deliver a maximum bandwidth of up to 5332Mbit/s using eight external antennas and amplifiers. The wanport can handle a maximum of 1Gbit/s. There are also a USB 2.0 and a 3.0 port on the router, and the router supports targeted WiFi signals via Advanced AC SmartBeam, mu-mimo, four simultaneous data streams and three bands simultaneously; two 5GHz bands and one 2.4GHz band. The router is the successor to the DIR-895L/R released in 2015 and has a suggested retail price of $499 in the United States. It is not yet known what the euro prices will be.
