Baldur’s Gate, Icewild Dale, Planescape: Torment and Neverwinter Nights will be released this year for Nintendo Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Publisher Skybound Games has signed an agreement with developer Beamdog to make that happen.

Game release dates have not yet been announced. Skybound Games says the games will be released in the course of the year, both physically and digitally. In the announcement, the publisher does not mention which consoles it concerns, but in a message on Twitter the company does.

Baldur’s Gate II and Baldur’s Gate: Siege of Dragonspear are also coming to consoles. Beamdog is responsible for porting the classic PC RPGs to the consoles. The studio previously made polished versions of the old games for the PC. Those Enhanced Editions are coming to consoles now.

Skybound Games will be demonstrating a selection of the games at PAX East at the end of March. So it is likely that the games will only appear after that. It has not yet been announced what the RPGs will cost. On Steam, the Enhanced Editions cost about 16 euros.

Baldur’s Gate came out in 1998. It was the first game to use BioWare’s Infinity Engine. In the years that followed, Icewind Dale and Planescape: Torment were released, also RPGs using the same engine. Neverwinter Nights is from 2002 and is made with the Aurora engine.
