Caiway raises fares after unannounced speed increase

Provider Caiway is raising the prices of almost all of its subscriptions. The price increases are between 2.00 and 5.50 euros. Last month, customers already noticed that the internet speeds at the provider had increased, so a price increase was expected.

The price increases will take effect on March 1, Caiway writes in a message to customers. The provider says the increase is necessary because of the higher fixed costs and because of investments in the network. The price increase is not entirely unexpected. The company’s prices go up annually around March, which is announced at the beginning of the year.

With the new price, customers also get a higher internet speed. It already seems to be active for many customers. At the end of December, customers already reported that the speeds of the Internet & Television Snel package and other packages had increased. Caiway gave no explanation for this at the time. The only price and speed that remains the same is for customers with the gigabit connection of the Internet Only Giga Fast package.

Call prices are also going up. Customers without a bundle then pay 14 cents instead of 12.
