Bose has introduced the Smart Soundbar 900 as the successor to the Smart Soundbar 700. The new soundbar will have seven speakers and support Dolby Atmos, HDMI-eARC and AirPlay 2. The soundbar costs 899 dollars, converted with VAT that is 919 euros.

The Smart Soundbar 900 has seven speakers, including two upward-facing transducers, according to Bose. These transducers must be able to mimic the sound of ceiling speakers. The soundbar also works with PhaseGuide speakers, which, according to Bose, should ensure that with Atmos sound it sounds as if the sound comes from specific points in the room.

When the user does not play Atmos sound, the soundbar itself decides which sound should come from the upwards-facing speakers. Bose calls this TrueSpace. The manufacturer further claims that the soundbar can adjust the sound based on furniture in a room, in order to minimize the impact that these furniture have on the sound.

The new soundbar is 5.8cm high, 10.2cm long and 104.1cm wide. The soundbar has a metal grille and glass top. Furthermore, the soundbar works with Spotify Connect, Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth 4.2 and can be linked to other Bose audio products. The Smart Soundbar 900 also gets an optical input, an Ethernet port and a remote control. The soundbar will be on sale from September 23. It is not clear whether the soundbar will also come to the Benelux.
