Blade Runner’s live action TV series is coming. So says Ridley Scott, the director behind the sci-fi classic. Ten episodes are being planned and a pilot has already been written. It is not yet known where and when the series will be shown.

According to Scott, it concerns episodes of an hour each and a so-called bible has already been written in addition to the pilot. This is a reference document that describes all the information about characters, the setting and other important elements for a TV series.
The director spoke for the first time about the Blade Runner series in the radio program BBC on Monday, Variety writes. It is not yet known where the TV series will go into production and whether it will be financed by a streaming service or TV channel.
Earlier this month, the animated series Blade Runner: Black Lotus was released on Crunchyroll and Adult Swim. That series was announced in 2018. Black Lotus is set in 2032, a period between that of the first Blade Runner movie and Blade Runner: 2049.
Blade Runner is a 1982 science fiction film starring Harrison Ford and Rutger Hauer. The story is loosely based on Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, by author Philip K. Dick. Blade Runner 2049 was released in 2017 as a sequel to the first film. This film was directed by Denis Villeneuve and stars Ryan Gosling.
