The Vision Pro headset will not have apps for YouTube, Spotify and Netflix when it is released on February 2. It is not known why the services do not want to release apps intended for the headset. Disney+ and Amazon Prime will come with a Vision Pro app.

After Netflix reported to Bloomberg on Thursday that it does not plan to release an app for the Vision Pro in the short term, YouTube and Spotify issued a similar statement. The three platforms refer to the browser if one wants to use their services, writes the news agency. In addition, Netflix and Spotify say that the iPad versions of their apps will also not be available for the glasses.

It is not clear why Netflix, YouTube and Spotify do not yet want to release an app for the Vision Pro. It is possible that the changed App Store policies in the US play a role. The commission for large developers has been reduced from 30 percent to 27 percent and developers are allowed to show their own payment link in the digital store. However, they are still required to offer in-app payments via Apple in addition to posting the link. Additionally, users will be presented with a screen warning that Apple is not responsible for payments made on that third-party website.

The Vision Pro will appear on the American market in early February. It is not yet known when the glasses will be available for sale in Europe.
