Microsoft has announced the arrival of the Apple TV app, although the company gives little further details, such as whether there is support for 4k, hdr and Dolby Atmos. The support of Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos is only mentioned with ‘apps like Netflix, Disney + and Vudu’. Given the language, it does not seem to be an exhaustive list, but it is not clear whether, for example, Dolby Vision is also supported with the Apple TV app. Many other well-known streaming apps will also be available on the next-gen consoles from November 10.
The arrival of the Apple TV app means that users of the Xbox consoles can access, for example, the content of the Apple TV + streaming service. Also, the iTunes store’s extensive movie catalog will be available through the Apple TV app, with movies available for rent or purchase by users. Quite a few films from this movie catalog are available via the Apple TV 4K with Dolby Vision.
