The screen savers of the Apple TV are in itself almost reason enough to buy the device. The beautiful aerial images of beautiful places in the world, underwater shots of a jellyfish paradise or NASA videos from space … it makes you as calm as Bob Ross who conjures up a pine tree from his brush. But accidentally press the remote control and the boring home screen looks at you again. Fortunately, you can easily activate the Apple TV screensaver yourself.

Activate Apple TV screensaver

The remote control of the Apple TV Remote has only six buttons, but they are multifunctional. To activate the Apple TV screen saver, you must have the menu button. Press this three times in quick succession and the screen saver pops up. Three clicks and you are (or will be) zen again.

Set screen saver

Do you now think: screensaver? Aerial images? What are you talking about? Then you may have to set the screensaver. Go to “Settings> General> Screen saver” and indicate under “Type” that you want Apple’s “Bird’s eye view”. With the other options you choose how often you want to download new images and after how long the screen saver will be started automatically.

Location screen saver Apple TV

Are you obsessed with looking at those aerial images and wondering where you are in the world? Then tap the Touch surface at the top of the Siri Remote. The location appears at the bottom of the screen. Swipe left or right over this touchscreen to fly to another location.
