WhatsApp appears to be working on a feature to send photos and videos without compression. That’s in addition to the ‘HD option’, which the app previously released.

To send photos and videos without compression, users will need to select them as documents in the interface in the future, reports WABetaInfo. That site often finds unannounced features in WhatsApp. The feature is in Android version 2.23.18.11. The interface states that users can send footage ‘in original quality’.

Features in beta usually come to the stable version of WhatsApp within weeks to months. Recently the option to send videos in ‘HD’, 1280×720 pixels, was added. WhatsApp has not yet said anything about sending images in original quality.
