ViewSonic Releases 32″ Curved Monitor with DisplayPort 1.4

ViewSonic brings the XG3240C to the market, a curved 32″ monitor with a refresh rate of 144Hz and displayport 1.4. The manufacturer focuses with the screen at gamers and the monitor has support for AMD’s FreeSync.

The ViewSonic XG3240C has an anti-reflective VA panel with a diagonal of 31.5″ and a curvature of 1800R. The resolution is 2560×1440 pixels. The maximum brightness is 300cd/m² and although this is too low for significant HDR reproduction, it has the product does support hdr10 according to ViewSonic.The monitor does not qualify for a DisplayHDR rating.

The screen has a contrast ratio of 3000:1 and the refresh rate is 144Hz. FreeSync support works with AMD Radeon cards from the 400 series. As far as connections are concerned, two HDMI 2.0 inputs and displayport 1.4 are present.

The 1.4 version of displayport was announced in early 2016, but not yet on many monitors. The bandwidth is high enough for 4k display at 120Hz, but in this case the screen must therefore display a maximum of 2560×1440 pixels at 144Hz, which hdmi 2.0 or displayport 1.2 can also do. Furthermore, a USB hub and a duo of 6W speakers are present and the screen is 80 mm adjustable in height. According to ComputerBase, the price is 659.90 euros.
