Publisher Ubisoft has cut out some of Red Storm Entertainment’s workforce. The development of Tom Clancy’s Future Soldier’s multiplayer mode will not be jeopardized by the layoffs.
According to the French publisher, the 38 layoffs at the development studio are the result of changed production priorities reports Gamesindustry.biz. Ubisoft has not disclosed what those changes entail. However, the publisher believes that the development of the multiplayer mode of Tom Clancy’s Future Soldier will not be delayed. The shooter should be released in spring 2011 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
The 38 cut-away employees have had offers to join another Ubisoft studio. Red Storm Entertainment itself, which was founded by Tom Clancy in 1996, will have about 100 employees after the reorganization.
