Twitter is testing a feature that makes tweets visible to a limited group

Twitter is testing a new feature called Twitter Circle. The feature lets users create a list of up to 150 people. Then the user can post tweets that are only visible to people who are on the list.

The test has been available to a small group of users since Tuesday, reports Twitter. When posting a tweet, participants in the test can choose whether they want to make it visible to everyone or to their ‘circle’, or a list of people that has been prepared in advance by the user. Twitter Circle is similar to Instagram’s Good Friends feature in that sense. This allows Instagram users to create a list of accounts that can see their stories.

It is not known whether and when the test will be rolled out to a larger group of users. Last month, Twitter reported that it will be testing an edit button for tweets later this year. The test for that feature will be rolled out to Twitter Blue members first.
