A Swedish website reports citing a source that the Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact smartphones will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-soc, with both devices having 18:9 aspect ratio screens, according to the website.

Like the XZ2 Compact, the Xperia XZ2 would have HDR displays, with the XZ2 getting a 5.8″ screen and the XZ2 Compact a 5.0″ screen. Both devices are said to have to do without a 3.5mm connection and the fingerprint scanner would be on the back of the devices.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 gets 4GB of ram, 64GB of storage space and would have a special music functionality that uses the vibration motor. However, the Swedish blog was unable to provide further information about this feature. The XZ2 Compact also has 4GB of ram, although it is not clear how large the storage capacity is. This smaller device has a screen with a full HD resolution and the screens of both devices are protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The devices would go on sale from March 6. The XZ2 would cost 7990 Swedish Kronor, converted that is 799 euros. The XZ2 Compact gets a price tag of converted 599 euros. The price information and specifications have not been officially confirmed by Sony, but according to the Swedish website it is a credible source.

Recently, a photo of what would be a prototype of the Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact appeared. The device shows a new design with a flat front and a convex back. That design matches the images of a teaser from Sony. This was the first time that something leaked about the new devices, which will probably be shown by Sony next week at the Mobile World Congress telecom fair.
