Sony introduces Walkman with Android 4.0

Sony has announced four new Walkmans. The top model of the four runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and two of the models are equipped with bluetooth to wirelessly send music to other devices.

The top model, the Walkman F800 series, runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and has wireless connection options in the form of WiFi and Bluetooth. The media player comes with a pre-installed Google Play Store, so that Android apps can be installed. The device has a 3.7″ multi-touch screen and a built-in speaker. The F800 will appear in variants with 8GB, 16GB and 32GB built-in memory.

The Walkman S770BT series also has bluetooth, to be able to stream music to, for example, speaker docks, car speakers or wireless headsets. The media player has a 2-inch screen and is equipped with 8GB of memory. The battery would last 36 hours.

Third, Sony has announced the Walkman E570 series. This media player comes with built-in software to suppress 96 percent of the ambient noise. Sony also supplies special noise-canceling earplugs. The E570 has a 2-inch screen and will appear in both an 8GB and a 16GB variant.

Finally, the Japanese manufacturer has announced the Walkman E470 series. This device is available in different, bright colors and has, among other things, a karaoke mode, where the lyrics appear with the music. Some games are also pre-installed. The storage space is a maximum of 8 GB.

In addition to the music players, Sony has introduced another speaker dock under the name Walkman E473K. Sony hasn’t listed prices for the new products, but all models should be in stores now.
