Software update: Zoom Player 3.10.1 final

Spread the love

The developers of the media player Zoom Player have final version 3.10.1 released† This release comes with some new features such as random playback of a media file. In addition, fewer resources are used under Windows 98/Me. The full changelog looks like this:

Here are the changes since release candidate 3:

  • New Settings to Flip the Video Horizontally and Vertically. This only works when the VMR9 renderer is in use and accessible through “Options / Filter Control”.
  • The Audio Renderer under the Customized DVD mode now has a tooltip which will allow you to see the device name if it got truncated.
  • Zoom Player now checks if the current position is greater than the duration of the entire video and then tries to update the duration. This may work when viewing captured video in real time.
  • New “Random” Play List sort command.
  • Zoom Player can now distinguish which CD/DVD drive is inserted so instead of checking the specified disc drive, the actual inserted disc drive is scanned for new content (if the toggle to do is enabled). The code to do this was requested and pointed out by Eric Gur.
  • Zoom Player should load a bit faster.
  • The Mouse Cursor hiding code has been changed once again. Hopefully, with this new code, the cursor should remain hidden while reappearing properly in other interfaces.
  • The Reset ZP window position function accessible through the taskbar right-click menu or from the tray icon will now work even if the you’re currently in Fullscreen mode.
  • Even less Win9x/ME resource use (as low as it can really get) and even slightly faster loading.
  • Opening files through the navigator will now once again close the navigator prior to opening the file (so you get instant feedback).
  • DMO Filter Property pages should now open properly.
  • RC3 broke DVD Scene Cut, Closed Caption Transparency and auto-resize window to source size.
  • The Play List Editor playing item wasn’t refreshed properly when a new item was being played.
  • WPL Play List parsing now accepts network paths.
  • VMR9 Windowed mode prevents some color control functionality.
  • Failing to load a media file will no longer mess up the navigator positioning.
  • Version number 3.10.1 final
