The makers of the popular compression utility WinZip have released the final ninth version of the program after several beta versions. It is still shareware, you can try WinZip for free for 21 days, after that you have to purchase it for 29 US dollars. A large number of changes have been made in this version; stronger encryption of zip files has been implemented, the limits of 65,535 files per zip file and a maximum total size of 4GB have been removed and the compression has been improved.
