Download WinRAR 6.21

RAR Labs has released version 6.21 of its archivers RAR and WinRAR. These popular compression tools are available for various operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and macOS. The programs can handle the most common formats – including rar, zip, cab, arj, lzh, tar, gz, uue, bz2, jar, iso, 7z and z – have a skinnable interface, and support for Zip64 and multivolume cab -files. The following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

Changes in version 6.21

• Both file and folder modification times are reset when extracting TAR archives and TAR-based archives, such as .tar.gz and .tar.bz2. Previously, file-only modification times were reset for these archive formats.
• Added support for unpacking .tar.zst archives with a dictionary size exceeding 128 MB. WinRAR 6.20 already supported such dictionaries for .zst archives, but not for .tar.zst archives.
• The -ed and -e+d switches are also supported by ZIP archives. Previously these only worked for RAR archives.

Fixed bugs:

• If an unencrypted file was kept in the same RAR archive after encryption and both files were extracted in the same unzip command, WinRAR 6.20 could not extract the unencrypted file;
• In some cases, when an error opened a file, the wrong detailed cause was displayed in the second line of the error message.
