Mike Singer has updated Weather Watcher to version 5.4c. This program can provide current weather conditions and forecasts for the next ten days from just about any location in the world. In addition, it can also display various weather maps and even set them as wallpaper on the desktop. Version 5.4 can be as full installation be obtained or as update on an existing 5.4 version. What’s new in this version:
- Weather.com cookies were interfering with Weather Watcher’s “Conversion” Options — Fixed.
- Detailed Forecast was not showing the wind units — Fixed.
- Updated Weather.com links at the bottom of the forecasts.
- Options will be automatically saved in the registry if the user has access. If not, the settings will be saved in a .INI file in the Weather Watcher program folder.
- Map History was not being properly deleted in “Maps” section of the Options — Fixed.
- When displaying a map as wallpaper, Weather Watcher will revert to your original wallpaper when Weather Watcher is shut down.
- Removed duplicate “CALM” in Hourly Forecast wind column.
- Expired severe weather alerts were being displayed — Fixed.
- Hourly Forecast shows 40 hours.
- Added 1/2/3/4 minutes in the forecast/wallpaper auto update times.
- Increased size of X’s in corners of windows.
- Removed buttons from bottom of Weather Watcher Map Viewer — Refresh/Print are not menu options.
- Added authenticated proxy support. Set the username and password in the “Proxy” section of the Weather Watcher Options. [break]
