Software update: Universal USB Installer 1.9.9.0

Version 1.9.9.0 of Universal USB Installer has been released. With this Windows program, the installation ISOs of a large number of Linux distributions can be placed on a USB stick. As a result, they no longer need to be burned to a CD or DVD first; the installation can be carried out from the self-starting USB stick. Support is available for a wide variety of distributions, from the best known to some very obscure. Part of the USB stick can also be used as persistent memory are used so that changes and personal files can be saved, which is not normally possible with a live CD. Since version 1.9.8.5 the following changes have been made:

Changes in version 1.9.9.0:

  • Update to support Clear Linux and Pop OS.

Changes in version 1.9.8.9:

  • Update to support Skywave Linux, and newer Knoppix.
  • Correct Ubuntu based persistent conditional statements.

Changes in version 1.9.8.8:

  • Update to support newer Archbang, ArchLinux, Manjaro, Dr.Web, and AntiX.
  • Add support for KaOS, Pop OS, Bionic Pup, Emmabuntus, and MX Linux.

Changes in version 1.9.8.7:

  • Update to support initrd boot option for newer Ubuntu based distributions when USB drive is formatted NTFS.
  • Add persistence option to Kodachi entry.

Changes in version 1.9.8.6:

  • Include ability to see which Disk the drive letter of volume / partition is on.
  • Improve DiskWipe option – rescan during Diskpart before creating a new partition.
