Software Update: Sysinternals Suite 2009-02-05

A new version of Sysinternals Suite was released on Thursday. This package is a collection of useful tools that can be used to manage systems and obtain extensive information about the computer. The package can also be used for troubleshooting and diagnosis. Sysinternals Suite was written by Mark Russinovich and Bryce Cogswell, initially for Sysinternals and now for Microsoft. Some examples are Process Explorer, Bginfo, contig and disk mon. In total it concerns a collection of no less than 63 different tools. Since the previous release, the following components have been updated:

Process Explorer v11.33:
This update fixes a bug where the history graph tooltips could display the wrong data point and reduces the memory footprint of the structures that store graph history.

Process Explorer v11.32:
This update fixes a bug in the process security page’s name resolution and uses history graph tooltips that track the mouse.

ZoomIt v3.02:
This release addresses a bug that could cause Zoomit to refuse to enter drawing mode once zoomed.

ZoomIt v3.0:
This major update to ZoomIt, the Sysinternals screen magnification and annotation utility, adds a LiveZoom mode on Windows Vista and higher, allows you to change the typing and break timer font, adds the ability to copy the magnified screen to the clipboard with Ctrl+C , and introduces a new configuration interface.

Autoruns v9.39:
This Autoruns update fixes a couple of minor bugs and adds a new Windows 7 location.

Autoruns v9.38:
This fixes a bug that prevented v9.37 from viewing the system account’s profile on 32-bit Windows.

Autoruns v9.37:
This update adds support for viewing the Local System account’s profile and adds a new option, Hide Microsoft and Windows Entries.

AccessChk v4.23:
Changes the behavior of object manager name parsing to make enumerating the objects in an object manager directory more straight forward.
