Sun Microsystems released a new version of Solaris this month and gave it the version designation 10 6/06. The operating system works on a number of different architectures such as SPARC, x86 and x86-64 and has some exclusive features on board. It includes, among other things: Dynamic Tracing, Solaris Containers and Predictive Self Healing with which you as a system administrator can improve your Solaris systems. For more information about Solaris, please refer to this page. In version 10 6/06 they have added support for the Solaris ZFS file system, SATA and PCI Express, among others.
