Software Update: REAL SQL Server 2007

Spread the love

REAL SQL Server is based on SQLite, a database system developed in C that can be used as a database for websites and embedded applications, among other things. Applications developed in REALbasic could already use a single-user database, but REAL SQL Server makes it possible to make these applications suitable for multi-user environments. REAL Software recently released REAL SQL Server 2007 with the following announcement:

REAL Software, provider of REALbasic, cross-platform that really works, today announced that REAL SQL Server 2007, the cross-platform multi-user database server for use with REALbasic, is shipping. REAL SQL Server is now a Universal Binary application for Mac OS X.

REAL SQL Server 2007 offers many exciting new features, including:

  • Encryption: REAL SQL Server supports AES256 encryption on the database file. This level of encryption has been approved by the US National Security Agency for the protection of classified information.
  • New Clients: REAL SQL Server now offers ODBC, PHP and C clients, making REAL SQL Server accessible from other database tools, reporting tools and web interfaces.
  • Multi-core Support: REAL SQL Server takes advantage of all available processors, providing greater scalability for large databases.
